Mr. Agatston not only has extensive experience in pursuing civil claims for crime victims, but has numerous contacts with professionals in the mental health field who have specific expertise in the counseling services for the survivors of these horrific crimes.
Working with victims and survivors of crime, and their families, to pursue their civil remedies is more than a professional calling for Mr. Agatston. He also has provided, and currently provides, free, pro-bono legal services to organizations whose mission is to offer comprehensive services for children who are alleged to have been sexually abused, or suffered severe physical abuse.
Additionally, in November 2002, Mr. Agatston was appointed to the Executive Board of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia. When his term ended in 2009, he was appointed to its Advisory Board, where he currently serves. He is also a member of the Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention; the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children; the National Crime Victim Bar Association; the Child Sex Abuse Litigation Section of the National Crime Victim Bar Association; and the Sexual Abuse Litigation group of the American Association for Justice. Additional affiliations include the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association as well as the ABA's Litigation Section, and the American Association for Justice.
